7th April

Well bloggers, it’s that day again,yes you guessed it..The 7th of  April. Feeling underwhelmed by this  announcement? Pish posh..for shame etc. April 7th is an auspicious occasion indeed.

1969 – The Internet’s symbolic birth date: publication of RFC 1.  Without which, you would be hard pressed to read this blog at all!! Now then, there you have it.

2001 – Mars Odyssey is launched. You see…more auspicious occasions than you can shake the proverbial stick at.

Famous birthdays on this date include

  • 1947 – Florian Schneider, German musician (Kraftwerk)
  • 1949 – John Oates, American rock guitarist and lyricst (Hall & Oates)
  • 1939Francis Ford Coppola, American film director
  • There is the be chubbyfaced beret wearing chap himself, what a cheeky looking birthday boy he is too, I’m sure you’d agree.

    So, Raise a glass with me and drink a toast to April 7th, because there wont be another one for a whole year.

      Oh darn am I too late to even be fashionably late, isn’t there even a glass of something left over for me? dammit you bunch of drunks. Ohh at least some vol-au-vents left. ugh broccoli, mackerel and humus, no wonder.

      Anyway didn’t wanna go to your stinking party anyways, Hall & Oats, Kraftwerk?!! yuck. Give me birthday girl Billie Holiday anyday
